
UK Announces $71M Winter Aid, New Sanctions on Russia

UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband announced £54 million (roughly $71 million) in winter energy and humanitarian aid for Ukraine, while also revealing about 40 new sanctions on Russia during his first visit to Ukraine as foreign secretary on Thursday, Oct. 8. Together with President Volodymyr Zelensky and Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, he visited Pryluky, a city in the Chernihiv Oblast where a Russian missile killed 22 people on Wednesday.
