NEPRA raises power tariff by Rs1.11

Electricity consumers have been hit with an increase of Rs1.11 per unit as the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Thursday issued a notification to raise the power tariff for one month under the August fuel cost adjustment (FCA). According to the notification, the increase will be recovered from consumers across the country, including Karachi, through their October electricity bills. The August FCA would place an additional burden of Rs19 billion on electricity consumers.
